With regards to any film opening; music can be included to create atmosphere and to deliver the genre more evidently to the target audience. Additionally, non-digetic and digetic sound can be used to either create sound which is visible on screen or not visible on screen.
Our film is a fairly calm and not very action is portrayed until the end; for this, we have decided that a theme tune at the beginning would ruin the scene we are trying to create for the audience. This caused us to believe a theme tune at the end of the film opening, when the alarms occur, would be best to create a more action packed ending to kick start the film.
